Unfortunately, with the announced escalation of troop deployments to Afghanistan to fight what President Barrack Obama has termed a "necessary war,"
American casualties will inevitably rise in coming months. Most of our injured Soldiers, Sailors,  Airmen and Marines are treated locally at the Zablocki VA Medical Center.
For the past 21 years, Vietnam veteran Jeff (Doc) Dentice has been mobilizing volunteers to help ease the journey back to a normal life
for wounded servicemen and women with a festive Christmas party to show our community's support and gratitude.
We salute Dentice for his military service and his efforts in founding & coordinating "Christmas With the Vets," and urge our readers to support our wounded service people.

Janesville Marshall Middle School Optomist Club volunteer project collected stuff animals
and made X-mas cards for the Veterans 2009 Christmas show coming up.
This was put together by Julie Spangler- Coordinator of Veterans For A Change

visited the Kohler, WI. school November 25th to talk with the kids.
The 3rd grade classes have gathered donations for Christmas with the Vets 2009.
Erin O'Brien(Kohler,WI.) and her kids put this together and raised donations for the 2008 show and are again doing so for 2009.


Lake View school teachers & kids in Wind Lake are also raising donations for the 2009 show

Thank you so much for all the work you do to help our Veterans  have a  Merry Christmas.
Luckily when my husband returned home last year he was in one piece, though
we are still dealing with the aftermath of war.
