FRIDAY NITE SETUP

13TH ANNUAL A WONDERFUL SUCCESS
On this cloudy then sunny Saturday, 5 buses arrived from Union Grove Veterans Home.
Our Veterans departed their buses and were helped onto the many waiting pontoon boats.
Off they went to enjoy some fishing, relaxing, and fun on Wind Lake.
The boats arrived back on shore and volunteers were there to greet them and get
them off the boats and to the event area. A barbeque with all the trimming awaited them.
There were raffle prizes won by the veterans. At 2:15pm the buses pulled up
and our Veterans were back onboard and headed home to Union Grove.
The 13th Annual Vets Fish was a fantastic and wonderful event.
Thank You to all the Volunteers, the Wind Lake Lions Club crew with the corn roaster.
Thanks to Phil Tojek for all the electrical work and the big generator, and to everyone that
donated all the food and cash donations to make this event possible.
Grateful thanks to Todd Flunker for allowing us the use of his property and garage where
the entire event took place. He has kept the tradition going forward.
All the remaining food was loaded into Docs truck, and off he went to bring dinner to our
Homeless Veterans at Cottage 16, located on the Union Grove Vets Home grounds.
Doc and Dennis Marifke also dropped a truck full of wheelchairs/walkers off at Gates Hall,
so the buses could load faster and get our Vets out of the heat and humidity.
